Ashley Street Catering
Ashley Street Catering is a full service catering initiative of the Clara White Mission which was founded in 1904.
Clara White’s Daughter, Eartha White, turned her mother’s soup kitchen into a community hub in order to serve the needs of homeless veterans and low-income.
Beginning with Clara and continuing with Eartha, the mission works endlessly to reduce hunger and homelessness in Jacksonville & its surrounding counties.
Clara White Mission is providing skills for life with its 20 week culinary arts training programs.Combining intensive hands-on production with lectures to reinforce kitchen learning, this program provides students with a broad range of culinary experiences.Upon graduation, students will be able to secure entry to mid-level employment in the food service/hospitality industry.
Ashley Street Catering will award an opportunity to join the team to the top graduates from the culinary arts program.
Clara’s at the Cathedral
“Clara’s at the Cathedral Café” is a cooperative project between the St. John’s Cathedral and the School of Culinary Arts at the mission. Every Friday since April 13, 2007, a luncheon has been prepared by the students and staff from the Mission’s culinary school.
The Café offers a relaxed dining experience within the Cathedral’s historic Taliaferro Hall, located in downtown Jacksonville at the corner of Duval and Market Street.
